Director of Medical Services, Management, Administration

The Director of Medical Services will function as part of the Network's Executive Management Team. The successful applicant will be expected to take a strong lead in clinical governance, medical workforce planning and management, and work in partnership with operational clinical managers. The successful applicant must be a medical graduate, possess significant administrative experience and a proven track record as a senior manager in a similar organisation. Essential: Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators, or equivalent qualification.

This permanent, full-time role is based in the city of Lismore, in the Northern Rivers region of the North Coast NSW.

Demonstrated leadership experience and achievement as a Senior Manager in a Health Service including strategic planning, medical workforce planning & management, and change management.
Demonstrated capability to effectively manage medical administration departments within similar health care organisations.
Demonstrated commitment to the principles and practices of clinical governance and clinical risk management and demonstrated capacity to implement and maintain continuous quality improvement management strategies.
Sound understanding of contemporary Health Service issues and the proven ability to prioritise and effectively manage resources to address these issues.
Communication, negotiation, consultative and interpersonal skills, incorporating the ability to liaise and consult with all levels of the health industry, the community and various professional groups.
Demonstrated commitment and capacity to implement EEO & OHS legislation.
