Director of Conference and Catering in Brisbane

This outstanding Hotel is enjoying enormous success and is now looking for an experienced sales & customer focused industry professional to join its growing team in Brisbane building strong working relationships in the Conference and Catering market

You will be responsible for the development, promotion and sale of conference & incentive business. This is a strategic role working closely with the sales team to achieve targets and is responsible for managing the conference & catering team in achieving their goals. Key functions of this position include;
- Develop sales strategies for need periods and maximising revenue
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with conference clients, PCO's, hotel suppliers and other hotels
- Develop and supervise new leads and qualify prospective leads
- Manage the a team of 7 people in reacting to enquiries and leads to ensure a high level of service and yield
- Complete organisation of quotations and proposals for large events
- Liaise with conference organisers to confirm details and obtain feedback prior to, during and after events
- Ensure accurate and effective use of Delphi system
- Ensure accounts are posted and prepared correctly presented to clients
- Ensure there is a strong interface with the Banquets Operations, Kitchen and Sales departments
- Responsible for submitting weekly and monthly reports on sales activities

Previous Hotel Sales and Ops experience is essential.
The right candidate will possess:
- Minimum 2 years in a management position within Conference & Catering within a 5 star hotel environment
- Proven experience in managing and developing a small team of people
- Demonstrated ability to achieve budget and Key Performance Indicators
