Agent Contract Coordinator, Manager, ACRB

The Agent Contract Coordinator (CAC) reports to the Manager, ACRB. The CAC performs a specialist role within the Authority to provide both legal and strategic advice regarding the management of WorkSafe’s contractual relationship with the Agents. While the formal reporting relationship is to the Manager, ACRB, the CAC role is also required to operate at all levels within the organisation and is regularly required to advise and work directly with more senior executives within the organisation such as the Board, the CEO, Executive Director IS&S and General Counsel.

The main objectives of the position are to work within the organisation to:

* Develop and manage a framework to effectively manage the business and legal relationship between WorkSafe and its Authorised Agents; and
* Provide WorkSafe with expert advice in relation to the obligations and functions of each Agent pursuant to the provisions of the Agency Agreement.
* Identify, manage and support strategies aimed at improving Agent performance.

This is a full time, fixed term position available until 1 June 2009.

The salary for this position is $94,355.00 per annum plus superannuation

* A background in providing legal advice on contractual issues and/or managing contractual relationships.
* An understanding of the provisions of Accident Compensation Act 1985 and or the workers compensation industry;
* Legal qualifications, i.e., admitted to practice as a barrister and solicitor (or eligible to be admitted) or extensive experience in the management of outsourced contractual relationships.
* A demonstrated ability to manage conflicting priorities, perform under pressure, be decisive, show initiative and flexibility.
* Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, written and oral communication skills.
* Well developed analytical and problem solving abilities
