This is a linked position. Subject to satisfactory performance at the HEO5 level and after demonstrating the capacity to undertake higher level responsibilities, the incumbent would normally expect to move into a HEO6 role within a maximum of 3 years. The Administrative Officer will provide a range of administrative services to support the activities of the Faculty Office as follows: * administrative support for a number of the academic programs offered by the Faculty, including executive support to Course Committees and Examination Boards, and the counselling of staff and students on University policy and procedures; * provision of executive secretariat support to Faculty committees as required, including preparation of agendas, discussion papers, minutes, action plans and reports; * co-ordination of Faculty involvement in Open Days, Education Fairs and other promotional/marketing events; * co-ordination of Enrolment/Startsmart arrangements; * occupational health and safety administration – act as secretary/executive officer to Faculty Occupational Health and Safety Committee, and assist Chair of committee with development, maintenance and monitoring of occupational health and safety action plans * Processing of applications for outside studies and overseas conference leave, receipt of reports and arranging financial disbursements * Special Projects as directed by Faculty General Manager, eg, undertaking research, documentation of proposals etc: * Staff responsibilities may be varied by the University in order to allow the University to respond to operational needs or

$57 352 to $68 610 pa full-time The total remuneration package includes salary and employer superannuation contributions.

Qualification
|
1. Demonstrated experience in an administrative role. 2. Effective interpersonal skills, with ability to communicate competently and professionally with staff and students, and senior personnel from outside organisations. * Demonstrated ability to manage complex tasks simultaneously, and with a high degree of accuracy. * A self-starter able to demonstrate initiative, and with the ability to work independently. * Demonstrated problem solving skills, with an analytical and constructive approach to issues * Above-average writing skills, with demonstrated ability to synthesise and present material from range of sources into minutes/notes of meetings, correspondence, briefing papers, reports * Time management skills, with ability to prioritise tasks betweencompeting demands on time. * Teamwork skills, with demonstrated ability to contribute positively to a busy team environment. * Competent keyboard skills, and demonstrated ability with electronic mail, word processing packages (including Excel) and data input, preferably on PC.
